The JA Experience
Hear About the JA Experience
Our organization touches the lives of our community and our members. See what they have to say.
JA has adopted numerous families at Christmas, and without the members of JA in our community, the Christmas season would be very bleak. I can attest that children opening presents make their lives normal that day. People in our community do make a difference and JA is an organization that lives its mission statement!
I originally got active in Junior Auxiliary in 1997 and stayed active for the next 6 years! It was such a neat time in my life – making new friends, learning about and helping our community and raising funds for our local children.
Back then, we held big parties at the Civic Center and I have such fond memories of working on the decorations with the other members before the party. That was where the real bonding came in! We raised a lot of money at those events!
As a life member, I still try to stay involved with JA! Anytime I am asked to help, I try to say yes and jump in where needed! Whether it is help with making calls for Community Partners or speaking to the LIFE group about banking, I am there!
I will always be proud that I was active in Junior Auxiliary of Hot Springs!
I cannot thank the Junior Auxiliary of Hot Springs enough for their generosity and kindness they have shown the abused children in our community by giving to the Cooper-Anthony Mercy Child Advocacy Center. These wonderful women have faithfully provided snacks and drinks for the children we serve. Many come to our center hungry and thirsty and we are able to provide them with these items which are not in our budget to purchase. Thank you JA!
Each year I received the JA of Hot Springs scholarship I was able to continue with a full-time class load and only have to work part time. With a family at home, the stress of trying to work full-time while going to college was alleviated by your generous support. I graduated from HSU in May and now work as a first grade teacher at Langston in the Hot Springs School District. JA’s willingness to support me through school enabled me to achieve my dream of being a teacher, and I am grateful.
